Christ Church, South Street Cockermouth, 1865 by Bruce of Whitehaven. A reactionary design with the features of the early 19th Century – plain tower with large pinnacles, long nave windows, and three galleries on iron columns inside.
There are several stained glass windows, by Heaton Butler and Bayne, and Clayton and Bell. The East window shows Jesus with the old and the sick.
It has an adjoining school of 1884.
