It runs all year except for Christmas and Boxing Day and takes about 10 minutes to cross the center of Windermere from Ferry Nab just south of Bowness to Ferry House at Far Sawrey. The service is run by the Highways Dept of Westmoreland and Furness County Council.

The ferry is currently running its winter timetable and will switch to its summer timetable on the 30 March.

Please check this link for times and fares- Timetable & Fares (external link). March 2024

Due to loading and unloading it is impossible to keep a strict timetable, however the captains will post updates on social media. The best way to keep updated is to check @windermereferry on Twitter.
