Coniston Boat Hire
Coniston Water is the fifth largest lake in the Lake District by surface area. By car it is roughly 20 minutes from Ambleside at the head of Windermere lake. Boat hire is available from Coniston Boating Centre, a not-for-profit attraction run by the Lake District National Park Authority.

Grasmere Boat Hire
Traditional rowing boat hire on Grasmere lake is for being out on the water only. It is not permitted to land on the island in the mere, or the shore, and swimming from the boat is not allowed.
