With the exception of Rydal Mount, still occupied by Wordsworth‘s descendants, these fascinating Lake District houses are no longer lived in and are now living museums and visitor attractions. Swarthmoor Hall is also an important Quaker centre offering residential courses and retreats.
Some of the properties offer house tours while others allow you full access to wander the building. All allow you to enjoy the beautiful gardens and have visitor facilities and tea rooms.
