Moorforge Craft Festival 2023

There will be ancient and modern craft demonstrations as well as craft stalls.

Take the unique opportunity to meet the crafters themselves, ask questions and learn about the skills that go into their handcrafted products, as well as buying direct from the crafters.

Moorforge Viking Settlement has a beautiful setting under wide skies on the Solway Plain. Located between Gilcrux and Dearham villages, it is just a 10 minute drive from the small towns of Cockermouth and Maryport, and 25 minutes from Wigton, Keswick and Workington.

There are village Inns serving delicious food nearby. The Mason’s Arms, Gilcrux, (2 minutes away) serves large plates of traditional pub-grub and has a pool table. The charming Old Mill at Dearham (4 minutes away), set beside a babbling brook and not much pricier than the traditional offerings, is one of the most exciting up and coming restaurants in the area. So why not make a full day out, or even long weekend, of it?

Venue: Moorforge Viking Settlement, Gilcrux, CA7 2RA

Tickets: £5 adults | under 16’s free | Pay at the gate
