Missing, mysterious and monumental tours at Wray Castle
For the weekends of November, there will be exclusive tours taking place, which will showcase some of the more unusual aspects of the castle, set close to the shores of Windermere lake.
You’ll hear about ornamental details which are missing from the interior, which we’re working to reinstate, monumental bits of stonework, structures and follies plus a few mysterious spots.
The tour includes access to areas of the castle normally closed to the public, plus there will be material from the archives to see.
Tours are £5 per person and are 1.5 hours in duration. Start times are 10.30 am, 12.30 pm and 2 pm. Normal admission applies. The tours include several flights of stairs.
Call 0344 249 1895 to book or book online. Or if there are any spaces left, you can book on the day.
Location: Wray Castle, Low Wray, Ambleside, LA22 0JA.
