Glencoyne Head and Aira Force Walk

For: Adults or Children.

Duration: 5 hours + travel time.

Distance / Ascent: 7.5 miles/11.5 km, 2000 ft/600 m.

Grading: Strenuous walk on fell paths, difficult in parts but finishing with firm footpaths.

Description: The walk circles the valley on balcony (or ledge) paths around it’s head and continues above Glencoyne Park, with splendid views over Ullswater. After passing Aira Force the walk returns along part of the Ullswater Way.

Meeting Time / Place for minibus: Saturday 9:00am Kendal Leisure Centre Car Park.

Meeting Time/Place for walk: Saturday 10:00am Glencoyne Bay National Trust Car Park.

Leader / Organisation: John Edmondson / South Lakes Walking Club.

Equipment: Walking Shoes, waterproofs and a packed lunch.

Dogs: Sorry – no dogs.

Max No People: 20 total: 14 minibus, 6 using own transport.

Cost: Free.
