Introduction to home composting

Home composting has always been a no-brainer. Each home compost bin saves 125 kg of waste from having to be transported away, and instead turns it into a great free product that benefits the environment, your soil, your garden, and everything you grow.

This talk will reveal how the composting process works, and explore the various influencing factors to be aware of to gain a better degree of control and confidence in your composting. This course is ideal if you’re keen to get started with composting, get a better idea of how it all works, or fine tune your existing processes for a better result. We will cover:

  • The benefits of home composting
  • The composting process
  • Composting bin types and methods
  • Using your compost in the garden
  • Common composting questions

Speaker: Garden Organic

We love compost at Garden Organic and, in our role as the UK’s national charity for organic growing, we take the opportunity to share the virtues of home composting amongst communities around the UK. Through campaigning, advice, community work and research, our aim is to get everyone growing ‘the organic way’.

This session takes place online, so you can join us from the comfort of home. We use Zoom and details of how to join will be provided when you book. Please read the confirmation email carefully.

We expect the session to last around an hour, and there will be opportunity to ask questions.
