Free guided walk to the abandoned settlement at Kinniside
Discover the hidden histories of the archaeology above Ennerdale with views right out over the coast on a guided walk with valley ranger Chris who’s worked on caring for the archaeology and wildlife habitats at Kinniside for many years.
You’ll see Monk’s Bridge, reputed to be the oldest traditional packhorse bridge in Cumbria, and then climb gradually across the open fell to the earthworks showing the abandoned settlement at Kinniside, with a view out over the West Cumbrian coast. This isolated and seldom visited corner of the Lake District National Park has many hidden stories to reveal.
