Crossing the sands with an experienced and knowledgeable guide is the only way to traverse the ever-changing flats and channels, and this amazing experience is a must for visitors to the area. Usually starting from Arnside and ending at Kent’s Bank, this guided walk crosses the sands through the channels of the Kent River.

The walk is between 6 and 8 miles, depending on the tides, and is suitable for any children (over age 8 recommended) and adults who are comfortable walking for 3-4 hours. Dogs are welcome but must remain on leads to ensure safety.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People provide a full range of bespoke services to people with hearing loss. 1 in 6 of the UK adult population has significant hearing loss, as well as over 50,000 children. We are here to support all of them, providing practical guidance, emotional support and communication resources as well as life-changing assistance dogs.

Join us for this fantastic day out and help us to change the lives of deaf people.
