Green Door Art Trail 2022
The 2022 Green Door Art Trail will take place from Friday 30 September to Sunday 2 October with artists opening their homes or studios, or exhibiting in our small group venues. This popular annual event, provides the opportunity to see an extensive and varied range of work from artists both contemporary and traditional. And all of our artists are looking forward to talking about their work and how they create it!
Trail venues can be found across South Cumbria from Kendal, down to Milnthorpe and then across to Lindale and Newby Bridge. Group venues are the Athenaeum at Leasgill near Milnthorpe and Space2Create in Kendal. We have simplified and streamlined it so dedicated Trail enthusiasts should be able to get round all the venues.
The Trail is a showcase for members’ work across a wide range of disciplines including textiles, painting, printmaking, ceramics, stonewear, pastels and mixed media. It’s the highlight of our year and an occasion to browse and buy a beautiful piece of unique art that is locally created. If buying a piece of art is out of your reach, we’ll have gorgeous cards and smaller items on sale too.
Most Trail venues are open on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 October, and a number are also opening on Friday 30 September. Look out for individual venue opening hours on our brochure as you plan your route. You can download one from www.greendoor.org.uk or pick one up from outlets around the area.
We look forward to welcoming visitors from the local area and from further afield. Our Trail map will guide you around the artists – don’t miss out on the wonderful venues that are slightly off the beaten track! Over the weekend, look out for the green and purple signs, they will guide you to our Trail venues.
