Dalemain Harvest Festival 2023

Dalemain Harvest Festival invites you to join them as they host a traditional celebration of the harvest. Delve into the enduring significance of the Harvest at Dalemain, and in the historic county of Cumbria, across the ages.

There will be enlightening talks, engaging activities and informative guided tours. All are designed to be enjoyed by everyone from families to gardening enthusiasts. Throughout the day there will be an array of traditional and unique activities for you to enjoy.

One of the highlights of Dalemain Harvest Festival involves getting up close with the majestic ‘heavy’ shire horses and learning the skill of plaiting their impressive manes.

The North Lakes Orchard Group will be bringing along their press and juicing apples. Visitors are welcome to bring along their own clean apples that have been hand-picked and washed. Please ensure they are not rotten, and bring a suitable container to collect your freshly pressed juice.

The parade of vintage tractors is always an eagerly anticipated event, not to mention a visit from our guest of honour, our mascot Philbert the Squirrel!’.

Dalemain‘s gardens will have yielded an abundant harvest of herbs and apples which will be thoughtfully incorporated into our scrumptious Autumnal menu, served at the Great Barn Tearoom.

Later in the autumn a special Harvest Celebration will take place at St Andrew’s, Dacre at 9.30am on Sunday 1 October 2023. The church will be decorated with beautiful, traditional harvest decorations, and everyone is welcome to this service of thanksgiving.
