Authentic Woman – Festival

Woman is one of the most powerful species on the planet. We have chosen to be here, at this time, as women to bring about change. This resounds deep inside us, excites and also unsettles, frustrates and confuses us. It should unite us with unimaginable strength. So why is our authentic self buried so deep and why are we hesitant to let her be seen?
Over this weekend of magic, healing and sisterhood we will explore and reclaim our authentic self, our divine feminine and we will celebrate her. We will indeed celebrate her!
You may enter the woods as a modern day 20th century woman – you will leave as the authentic woman – the warrior, the path finder, the healer, sacred woman fearless and bonded with the divine feminine woman. Whatever you choose to be you can become.
As authentic women we will cast off the world and it’s burdens, leave our responsibilities at the entrance to the woodland and be. We will sing chant and dance, build altars and celebrate the divine feminine and mother earth. We will call upon their energies to heal then reclaim all that we are meant to be in meditation, dance, discussion and mindful creation of blissful states.
Some of the weekend activities include an opening ceremony to cast of our imposed femininity and reclaim our authentic self.
Journey to connect with our mother earth and the divine feminine in the stone circle. Chanting and drumming in the yew tree circle. Crafting the goddess. Sacred altar building and ceremonial celebration and healing of ourselves and sisters all over the world. Journey to truly love yourself. Time spent around the fire, time to sing, to drum, to be.
In traditional cultures food was prepared with love and intention to truly nourish those we love. We will eat lunch and evening meal together under the canopy in the glade, or a picnic in the woods. All food is organic and vegetarian and will be prepared with love and intention and shared in community with love and laughter. You will be welcome to join in the sacred preparation of the gift of food.
The weekend is one of sisterhood and community and in order to maintain that, numbers are limited. It’s a women only event although we recognise and respect that the divine feminine is actually gender-less. As women we want to be able to run wild and free together in true abandonment and celebration of our body and soul.
The retreat will run over 3 days Fri to Monday. It’s in a stunning woodland setting and mainly camping, which is included in the ticket price. There is some basic accommodation on site for extra charge and also tipi / bell tents for hire. Please enquire via email for details. Off site accommodation is readily available in the area although to immerse yourself in the retreat of the woodland will bring the greatest benefit, we believe.
Investment is £150 for the weekend which includes 3 nights free camping, vegetarian lunch and dinner. We would be happy to take payment in 2 instalments of £75 with final payment no later than 1st July.
Although the event runs from 2 pm on Friday to 11 am on Monday this is the site access times. The schedule of events will allow for arrivals later on Friday and leaving on Sunday evening. We don’t provide breakfast to give you greater flexibility- as in a lie in, lol.
Your retreat hosts for the weekend are Andrea and Gerry. We are ‘Following the Joy’.
Andrea is an Angel reiki Master, Cert. Clinical hynotherapist, Past Life Therapist, NLP master practitioner, Teacher with QTS and all round wild woman!
Gerry is an Usui reiki Master, Teacher with PTLLS and was the manager of Chorley Women’s Centre for 17 years.
