The boathouse, jetty & private beach on Ullswater with Beauthorn Coach House seen behind.
The two Ullswater holiday cottages, owners lodge and the Boathouse (which is not rented out), all form part of what was the Beauthorn Estate set romantically amidst beautiful and inspirational grounds sat on the banks of one of Britain’s most picturesque lakes, Ullswater, and where it is believed inspiration for Wordsworth’s poem “Daffodils” was drawn.
Beauthorn Cottage and Beauthorn Coach House are comfortably appointed lake side Ullswater holiday cottages, both pet friendly. Furnished in traditional style, there is a cosy log burning stove in Beauthorn Cottage. Beauthorn Coach House features the best Ullswater lake views and has a balcony with breathtaking views over the lake and across to The Sharrow Bay Hotel and Hallin Fell.
The grounds to Beauthorn Cottage and Beauthorn Coach House are mature, secluded and enclosed and lead down the hillside to the Boathouse, Jetty and Ullswater lake shore beach. You are welcome to fish and moor a boat here if you wish. We have what is reputedly the oldest boathouse on Ullswater lake and it has two boat berths, one under and one alongside the boathouse.
Beauthorn Coach House
Beauthorn Coach House is a character two storey converted coach house which has a twin bedroom, small shower room and WC to the ground floor and a double bedroom, fitted & equipped kitchen and a separate living room upstairs on the first floor with fine views and access to the dual aspect balcony overlooking Ullswater lake.
The holiday cottage is centrally heated with a feature cast iron type gas stove in the living room. Beauthorn Coach House is smaller than the other cottage and a bit more basic. It has always been the more popular of the two though, as it has the best views of the lake.

Beauthorn Cottage
A stones throw from the lake foreshore, your Ullswater cottage presents an unpretentious natural character, comfortable and welcoming. A lovely wood-burning stove creates a warm ambience in the living room and there is a separate Kitchen/Diner and a ground floor bathroom with shower (the WC is on the first floor). Two pretty first floor bedrooms which share a WC (Bathroom on ground floor).
This enviable position, with extensive garden, lakeside frontage and jetty makes for a delightful experience.

Ullswater holiday cottages – Notes
If combined the cottages can sleep up to 8 persons and as they are attached and located next door to each other make an ideal base for families & friends who would like to be together but also have their own individual space.
Bed linen included, oil CH, Fuel/Elec incl, Elec cooker, Fridge, Washing machine in separate utility room, Microwave, Colour TV’s, Pets by arrangement, Parking, Cot on request.
Brackenrigg Public House approx 15 minutes walk, Ullswater lake frontage fishing from the shore or the jetty.
Caution: Due to lake frontage, young children should be supervised.
Outside: The grounds to Beauthorn Cottage and Beauthorn Coach House are mature, secluded and enclosed and include a level lawned garden with picnic bench and steps leading down the hillside to the Boathouse, Jetty and Ullswater lake shore beach.
You are welcome to fish or moor a small boat here if you wish. We have what is reputedly the oldest boathouse on Ullswater and it has two berths, one under and one alongside the boathouse. Please let us know beforehand if you are bringing a boat.
Beauthorn Cottage has its own private timber decked terrace for enjoying those long summer nights and stargazing.
We also have parking alongside each property.
Both of these Ullswater cottages are pet friendly.
