Activity Centres in The Lake District & Cumbria
The choice and standard of Outdoor Activity Centres in the Lakes and Cumbria is very high, the result of a long tradition of such establishments and the experience and quality of the instructors drawn to living and working in this beautiful region. Activity Centres come in two main formats: residential and non-residential.
Residential Multi Activity Centres provide accommodation and often food and transport to the venues, you will usually stay in dorms or private rooms at the Centre- however most residential Centres will also be happy to help you find accommodation nearby if preferred. Most activities venues will be in the local surrounding area. These Centres are popular with educational groups but are equally suitable for individuals and family / friends groups.
Non Residential Multi Activity Centres are, in general, more mobile with activities instruction and equipment provision across a wider area of Cumbria and the Lakes. Usually, but not exclusively, these Centres do not invite you to their base, this being reserved for equipment storage and offices, but will meet you directly at one of their many activity venues. Most of these Centres will assist you in finding accommodation if requested and can advise on transport options. Suitable for educational, family / friends groups and individuals.
