Fox's Pulpit - Firbank Fell
Location : Sedbergh

On the unassuming Firbank Fell, between Kendal and
Sedbergh, is a place of pilgrimage, known as Fox's Pulpit.
Here, in 1652, fresh from his vision on Pendle Hill, George Fox addressed a multitude, and thus began the Quaker movement, 'The Society of
Friends'.
Adjacent to a memorial tablet, is a small graveyard where a church once stood. This is an evocative spot, and will cause many to lift their eyes to Heaven. |
