Comment : Hi, I am a resident of Carlisle and whilst I enjoyed reading what you had to say about Carlisle on the site it might be worth pointing out that \"The original southern entrance to the City, Bothergate\" is actually called Botchergate, not Bothergate. Many Thanks.

Comment : While I was delighted to see my sculpture \"watercut\" shown on your site I thought you might like to know it is all made from one kind of stone: Cumbrian Salterwath limestone - not 2 sorts as suggested. Initially the two halves looked different as one had been exposed to weather for longer prior to carving. Now they have weathered down to match each other.

Comment : I am putting together a guide book on the area. Could you please let me know the opening hours and days of the Carlisle Citadel West Tower. Is there an admission charge? I can\'t find it on your website or anywhere else. Is there also a contact phone no. for the Tower? many thanks, Rosalind Munro

Comment : My mother\'s maiden name was Pennington and she had traced her family back to a Pennington castle in England. I am wondering if your castle is that one. We had a drawing of a tower but I did not know the location. She passed away in 1992 and my sister is now in possession of most of the family history information. Any information you can help with I would appreciate. Thank you.
Reply - Muncaster Castle at Ravenglass is what you are looking for.

Comment : Over the years I have visited a number of tourist sites but I must say this is the most informative and easily navigated of them all. The detail is wonderful and the photos superb. Congratulations to all concerned - and a big thank you to the brave intrepid photographers who gave me views of places I wouldn\'t dare venture to go! Excellent site.

Comment : Please, what is a "Relevent facility" (sic). We will be on holiday near Cockermouth next week. We come every year for Woolfest week and I have been searching for any new events, interests and eating places. Nothing puts me off as much as poor spelling or other abuses of the language. Your site is excellent - until I read the above when seeking Real Ale pubs. I also found the restaurant Seven in Cockermouth, we had not come across it on previous visits. However, we will not be visiting it next week. I invite you to read through the text on the web site to find the reasons. If not competent to produce a correct page of text, can they cook? Regards Chris Clarke
Editor Response - grammatical error fixed, thankyou. Not all chefs have a degree in English, and not all people with a degree in English can cook. Your loss if you choose not to eat somewhere based on a small error in English useage.

Comment : i just had to come and let you know how much i have enjoyed looking through some of your work--am sure you have tons more. My fave being from Mr Roger Savage. As an eager amateur myself i look for the quirky and yet the obvious around me....some seeing immediatly and some never getting what i am trying to show---like you---i find the Duddon Valley/Wrynose?Hardknott a most magical unspoilt place. When my partner first came up here form Bristol we mad that place our own....by the fact as you drive intothe valley there is no outward side of the 21 century beyond DaleEnd Farm by the river. Again, thanks so much for giving us a different insight intothe world around me that is so familiar and yet there is always another angle to see things from. Your sincerely Margaret Grant
