Eden Ostrich World is an award winning attraction set in the scenic village of Langwathby, 5 miles East of Penrith.
A working farm with a difference, there are many animals, and the flock of African Black Ostrich are a big favourite with the young and old.
Some of the newest animals include amphibians, mammals and reptiles, all homed in a new animal house. A popular event is the milking of the sheep daily at 2.00 pm.

Extra activities take place over weekends and local school holidays including, tractor and trailer rides, meeting the animals, face painting, bouncy castle and much, much more! There is a stunning riverside walk along the River Eden, and you can learn about its 'Site of Special Scientific Interest'. There are adventure and pre-school play areas, a giant maze and undercover and outdoor picnic areas, as well as an indoor two story soft play area for children up to the age of 12.
A large tea room serves homemade light meals, snacks, cakes, teas and coffees, and there is a well stocked, reasonably priced gift shop selling a wide range of pocket money toys and gifts, as well as the Hayloft Gallery, selling arts and crafts, many by local artists.
Langwathby Station on the Settle-Carlisle Railway is only 400 metres away.
