Larch cottage nurseries was started 20 years ago. It has evolved into the nursery you see today,
with its Romanesque styles ruined walls, accommodating individual gardens entwined within the
selling areas. The plant collection has grown to be one of the most comprehensive in Britain.
Areas include a Japanese dry garden (see below), monastic herb garden, medieval courtyard, and gothic plant house. These are set off by large herbaceous borders, creating a unique atmosphere. There is a large pond situated below the terrace, which is home to an assortment of fish, many up to ten years old. The pond also accommodates a number of damp loving perennials and a number of aquatic plants. The terraced restaurant, overlooking the garden, has over the years built up a reputation for producing freshly prepared continental cuisine. |
