'Kendal - Yard 2 - Smokehouse Yard'

One of Kendal’s old yards, yard 2, has recently been re-developed (late 2007). It has now become the Smokehouse Yard, with the properties being cleaned up, and a couple of vacant buildings at the bottom of the yard being redeveloped.

Of interest, is the Grade II listed Smoke House that still stands at the end of the yard near to Booths. Probably built sometime in the mid 19th century it is in excellent condition even retaining the louvered windows and pyramidal roofs. The rest of the yard consists of warehouses and old stores.
