Location : Bowness-on-Windermere
Here are some photos from the Windermere Airshow 2006, held on the weekend of 29th & 30th July, and
presented by the Rotary Club of Windermere.
Highlights included the Army's Red Devils parachute team,
the Red Arrows aerobatic display team performing their 25 minute show, and the Battle of Britain Memorial
Flight with a Spitfire, Hurricane and Dakota.
Other RAF aircraft included the Tornado GR4, 110 Squadron Hawk, the Harrier GR7, and the Merlin, Lynx,
and Sea King Helicopters.
The Band of the RAF Regiment gave marching displays and played at the Glebe Bandstand,
and there was a concert on Saturday evening in the gardens of the Belsfield Hotel.
The RAF Police Dogs gave demonstrations on both days, and there were all the usual attractions including
Taylor's fair, and the local organisations' marquee.
