The National Trust celebrated the new millennium with a round-Britain voyage of the National Trust Coast Show
on board the Grand Turk, a replica 18th Century sailing ship which featured in the Hornblower TV series.
The ship arrived at Whitehaven, berthing at the newly restored
sugar tongue, on Tuesday 20 June, and stayed until Saturday 24th June.
Here are some pictures of that visit. Our webcam in The Beacon
was transmitting live pictures every three minutes while the ship was in the harbour.
