St John the Evanglist's church, 1856, by Messrs Francis. It has a south west tower with a short spire, made to look busy by two tiers of lucarnes. [Lucarnes are windows in a spire which are found in all periods of English Gothic architecture, and which in French spires form a very important feature in the composition.]
Stained glass by Wailes.
