Satterthwaite - All Saints Church
Location : Newby Bridge / Hawkshead
Map - Ordnance Survey - SD 339924
Records show there was a chapel in Satterthwaite as early as the late 16th century. It was a chapel of ease, which is a building other than the main church of a parish, being more accessible to some parishioners. The main church at this time was the Church of St Michael in Hawkshead.
There are four stained glass windows, three by Shrigley and Hunt, including the three light East window shiwing the Ascension.
