Looking north, towards Whernside.
Very shortly after leaving Ribblehead Station the famous Ribblehead Viaduct is reached.
Looking south, towards Pen-y-Ghent.
Ribblehead station is now leased by the Settle and Carlisle Railway Trust who have restored and refurbished it. There are resident caretakers, a small shop selling memorabilia, and a Visitor Centre that includes exhibits about the history of the line and the fight to keep it open. There is also a small shop, and some refreshments are available.
The centre is open from 10am to 4pm except Mondays in the summer, and except Mondays and Tuesdays in the winter.
The Northbound platform was removed in 1974. A new northbound staggered platform was built in 1993 [second picture].
There is a weather station situated in the station grounds with the results displayed at - www.ribblehead.org.
From Ribblehead station there is just a short walk to see the famous Ribbblehead viaduct.
On 22 July 2007 a special walk took place across the viaduct from Ribblehead Station.
