At the heart of English Lakeland, this is the perfect all weather attraction. Its superb landscaped gardens have an impressive display of trees, plants and shrubs. From seasoned gardeners to the less green fingered, there's something here for everyone. In the crystal palace there are 4000 square feet of Amazonian-like plant life, exotic bedding plants, climbing and hanging plants and miniature Bonsai trees.

The family run business, started 200 years ago, has been involved in the design and landscaping of some of the most illustrious gardens in the Lake District. The Dutch borders and rockery at the National Trust owned Sizergh Castle, were created by Mr TR Hayes in 1925.

There is a fascinating and colourful display of tropical fish, and one of the country's largest displays of garden furniture. Indoors there are books and gifts, and a coffee lounge.
