Walking in The Lake District & Cumbria

There is no better way to experience the Lake District than walking. As the spiritual home of England’s walkers, here you can discover high mountains, moorland fells and valleys, as well as woodlands and streams.

Many people choose to go on a guided group walk while in the Lake District, to experience the landscape whilst in the company of a guide who knows the area and safety in the mountains. Previous experience needed depends on the difficulty of the walk you choose, but since we are all born walkers this really is the activity open to everyone.

You will normally be expected to have some equipment, such as walking boots and some waterproof clothing. For more details please see the local providers below. Introduction courtesy of The Lake District Walker.

The Lake District is the number one walking venue in the UK and there’s something here for everyone. Short strolls through the valleys, woodland & waterfall walks, and of course a huge choice of fell & mountain walks. We can help you choose the right walk and guide you seamlessly for the duration. We’ll also explain the views and the plant life along the way. For something a little different why not choose a sunrise or sunset walk. Arriving on a summit in time for either is a magical experience. Website : www.mountain-journeys.co.uk
